ARML, Updates to the Blog, and Finals

Saturday I headed out with the state math team to the national math contest, ARML, in Iowa City. The contest itself is run nation-wide in three locations simultaneously - Las Vegas, Iowa City, and at Penn State college. I personally did horrible. I got a 1 (of 8 ) on the individual. High score on my team (the B-team) was a 3, but I was easily capable of obtaining a 5. I missed 4 problems I know that I know how to do. I literally smacked myself in the head with the clipboard afterwards. Besides that and spending an hour and a half in a ditch when our bus ran off the road, it was a fairly great trip and I look forward to it again next year. PHPOmaha

So, I was at the state math team practice the other day, and when leaving I saw a poster for "PHPOmaha.com" I read it the poster quickly and saw it was a group of people trying to get together to discuss PHP, AJAX, etc. I decided to check it out, since you know, it sounded interesting. The next meeting is June 7th and so far I plan to attend. No reason not to since school gets out the 6th and it could be a good chance to learn some stuff. There's some professional programmers and some free lance web designers who plan to attend/have attended, so it could be an interesting learning experience and a good insight into what web design could be like as a future career. Whole lot of updates

Well, yesterday was my school's Activities Banquet where they recognize all athletes, actors, etc. who participate in sports, the school's plays, etc. and today was "Honors' Day" where they honor exceptional students in all categories and announce things surrounding the National Honor Society (NHS). I received five awards between these two events. At the Activities Banquet I earned my varsity letter in football and my varsity letter in track. I also was recognized as "Lifter of the Year"/"Most Outstanding Lifter" for weight lifting. Then, today at Honors' Day I was one of two kids in my grade to earn "Headmaster's List Summa Cum Laude" which is awards to students who have all A's in every quarter. I also was accepted into the NHS today. That made my day. Anyways, just a simple update I guess. I plan to start posting things relating to coding soon. We'll see.

New Blog

So, I just set up this blog as my new blog. Finally updated to WordPress 2.2, etc. I have to say, I'm quite content with what they did in changes; they're quite nice. Anyways, that's all there is to my first entry. =P I'm looking for another good theme once again, but I'm sticking with this one for now unless anyone has any suggestions.
